Free Processing vs. Traditional Processing Programs?

Free Processing, also known as the Cash Discount(CD) Program is different from the Traditional Program. You still get your choice of a Free Clover POS, but with different guidelines. Check out the definition of the 2 as well as the Free POS guidelines.

Cash Discount or Free Processing

This format is very simple. Merchants pass on a small convenience fee to the customer. This is becoming more and more popular. As stated, it can be very pricey to pay for the fees yourself. By passing on a small convenience fee to the customer you pay nothing, hence the term “Free Processing”. You may lose a customer, but you will have to lose many to offset the high fees.

Standard or Traditional Processing

Standard or Traditional Processing is basically flip-flopped of the CD Program. Instead of the customer incurring the cost, the merchant is the one that pays the fees at the end of the month.
